As heard on Skepticality #192 – Sexual Brain Science
I was born on November 6, 1955 in Seattle Washington, where my father worked for Boeing. After several transfers we settled in Huntsville, Alabama late in 1964. I have lived in Alabama ever since.
I met my husband, Dennis Smith in 1975 while studying electrical engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. We married on 1/7/77 and that fall we moved to Birmingham, Alabama where Dennis taught electrical engineering at UAB until he retired in 2007.
After finishing medical school in 1984, I spent some time teaching biomedical engineering before completing my residency training in 1992. I have tried private practice a couple of times but I prefer the ER.
I started podcasting in 2006 and hope to use the skills I have developed for career outside of clinical medicine.
